No matter what type of home based business you have, it is very important for you to have a place to work on your business. A room separate from your “living” space such as your kitchen or dining room table. Most newer homes have a “study” or “office” already built in them witch is the ideal room to run your business out of. Once you have your office space, the next thing is the design of it.
Home office design is very important. A good desk with storage space is something you will want to have. Also, an office chair will be important, you don’t want to be sitting on the floor while you’re trying to work. If you are not not comfortable when you are working, it will just make it all that much harder to keep working at your home based business.
Your home office should also have the obvious: A good updated computer or laptop (preferably less than 3 years old) a printer, an internet connection and some sort of filing cabinet, if your desk doesn’t have antiquate space. These are all general business items you will need to have a successful home based business.
Lastly, your home office should have motivational or scenic pictures on the wall to help inspire you. Also, a plant or even a fish tank to help make your office someplace you want to be. Just a personal note, I prefer a clean and organized office, you don’t want to be wasting time trying to find things or making room when you can be using that time to work.
If you have a small budget, start with what you feel you need the most and continue with your home office design as your budget allows. Once your home office is completed, you will have a great place to be successful with your home based business.

Spamming is annoying. Spamming will absolutely, positively destroy you and your online business. Many internet marketers don’t even realize they are spamming when they are marketing their home based business. Many times internet marketers believe they are taking the most logical approach when spreading the word about their business, but in all actuality they are basically vomiting their home based businesses every chance they get.
If you are unsure that you are spamming your business or your name, or maybe you just need to take a quick look to make sure your not spamming, then below you will find the proper do’s and don’t s to marketing your home based business, and insuring that you are running a spam free marketing plan.
Don’t s:
1. Do Not reply to people with your 3 line pitch about your business. If you are trying to persuade someone to join your new hot t
o trot program and your are not first giving value to them, then you are spamming, so stop!
2. If you are creating social profiles or blogs that are nothing about you and all about your business, then you are spamming, so Stop!
3. If you are creating content that is just one big sales letter with no value for your target market use right now, then you are not adding value, and are being an annoying spammer.
Do’s:
1. Do create valuable content to provide your target market with real workable solutions to their problems right now.
2. Do create social media profiles that are truthful and honest about you and your home based business, make sure to interact with the community so they can get to know you as a leader.
3. Do be sure you are being consistent on a daily basis with building your online presence everyday with social media strategies, and being careful not to abuse your reputation by spamming people with your un-useful salesy information.

As unemployment rates continue to go up and the economy continues to struggle, many individuals are searching for home based business ideas and self employment.
