1. Sell advertising space on your site. You can sell banner or classified ads or if you want to make more money, sell sponsor ads and give them top placement and the best exposer.
2. If you have enough space, you could sell or rent a page or two to other people. Another option would be to give them away for free or at a discounted rate and place your banner ad on the web pages.
3. Charge people a fee to access part of your web site. There are people who will pay for your content if it is valuable information to them. The type of content can be ebooks, reports, software, ect.

A savvy entrepreneur will always exercise caution before committing to a business venture. The world is full of genuinely lucrative opportunities, but there are also plenty of scams just waiting to trip you up. The surest way to avoid a potential scam or pyramid scheme is to do your homework. Make sure that you have a clear understanding of a product or service before you commit valuable resources to promoting it.
Take your time and assess the credibility of various online business opportunities. If you choose wisely, you could end up living an idyllic lifestyle. When driving back from vacation last week, what came to mind was the importance of planning and setting goals, not only with my home based business, but with life as well. I thought about it because I plan my route when driving, if not, wouldn’t I be driving kinda blindly? I plan around places to eat and the time we would be getting to that area as well as the time we arrive at out hotel for check in time. I also plan around rush hours near the bigger cities, I hate getting stuck in traffic! My goals were to avoid heavy traffic and make it to our hotel right at check in time, so I planned it and achieved it.
The same goes for a home based business or online business. Plan out your day even down to the hour if you must. Set a time when you will work on your home based business. Then plan out your week and month. Set goals of what you would like to achieve in that time frame and where you want to be with certain projects. The most important thing to remember is to stick with your plan and set goals that are reachable. Having a successful home based business requires planning and goal setting otherwise you will just be driving blindly.
Yesterday we covered 2 things that should put a red flag up in your mind that what you are looking at is probably a scam…making lots of cash in very little time with little or no work and promising you riches in a specific time frame. Today we will cover the other two “warning” signs of scams. After all, starting a home based business is hard enough, no one needs to be scammed while doing so.
3. Receiving unsolicited emails. If you didn’t sign up to receive emails from someone then you are probably being scammed. You will come across a lot of free offers and gifts on web sites that all you need to do is give your name and email to receive them. This is ok to do (I have one on my page) but expect to get emails from that person. But be careful if you have not singed up for them.
4. Paying to work for someone. When you work…you should get payed! Now, there are sign up fees for most legitimate online opportunities. These fees should include, but not limited to, software, training materials, use of the companies site and mentoring. Remember, you do need to invest in your home based business. What you need to watch out for are the ones that are charging thousands of dollars all up front, it is much better to go with a fixed term membership site. On those sites you only pay a small amount per month and can opt out any time you want.
So when starting a home based business, do your research and be wary of all the scams out there. There are a lot of legitimate online business opportunities for you to succeed with. Following these guidelines should help you avoid the bad ones. Make tons of money with your own online business. We have all heard this before. So how do you know what to believe and what not to believe?

As stated in #1, all businesses take time and hard work to become successful.
Now please keep in mind, I don’t want to discourage you from starting a home based business. You can make money online and lots of it if done properly and realistically. They will state that you can make good money, however, they promise you nothing.
Well summer is almost over, the kids start school next week. Time to rethink the schedule. Having a home based business is awesome. The benefits always outweigh the negatives. The one thing however, that can be a little distracting when working from home is kids. Now, a lot of you want to be there for your kids, that’s probably why you decided to start a home based business in the first place. For instance, maybe Saturday afternoons and from 4:00 to 8:00 a.m. on weekdays will be when you can get the most work done. If you need to contact people, you will have to work a more conventional schedule, but afternoons might work out better than mornings. You really won’t know until you’ve seen how your own family and personality fit into the scheme.
3. Consider dressing up a little, especially if your business requires making phone calls. You won’t feel very professional sitting there in your fuzzy robe and uncombed hair, and it might show through in your voice. Get dressed in something you wouldn’t mind being caught dead in, and put on shoes. You’d be surprised what a difference shoes can make in your attitude and efficiency.
4. Advertise! Even freelancers need to let people know they are out there. A good rule of thumb is to spend about one fourth of the time you work on getting the word out. It doesn’t have to be expensive. A small ad in the want ads of the local paper, or announcements on Internet bulletin boards can make a big difference. (Do be aware that some online message boards prohibit advertisements.)
5. Get organized. Organization will make you more efficient and ultimately reduce the number of hours you’ll need to work. There are many great online resources and books that can help you if organization is hard for you.
6. Don’t get discouraged but learn from your mistakes. You will make some flubs, but they can be your richest source of education when learning the ropes of your new home based business. The only people who don’t make mistakes are those that don’t do anything.
7. Separate work from home. Do this mentally even if the kitchen table has to double as office and family meal location. Be there for your family. Don’t let work preoccupy you every waking minute or you’ll miss out on the real reason you’re staying home. Similarly, don’t let the family’s little urgencies keep you from getting your work done. Finding the balance can be tricky, but it is essential for a successful home based business.

The final ingredient you need to successfully make money online is quality content. If you are not providing free quality content that is valuable to the people reading it why would they want to return? Content has always been king and will continue to be for a long time because people use the internet to search for information. Whether you provide that information in text, audio or video it really does not matter but you have to make it good enough for people to want to pass on what you have told them. The only time quality content that helps and/or provides a solution would vary is if you are running a personal blog about your life where you simply tell people about what is happening with you.
